Approach
Q: How do you approach working
with clients?
A: As a Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist in Santa Cruz, I work with men, women, teens, young
adults, couples, and families who are seeking to improve the
quality of their relationships and lives.
Whether you are working to ease the symptoms
of depression and anxiety, healing from grief and loss issues,
resolving trauma, or seeking deeper relationships with yourself
and others, I can help you move forward.
I encourage clients to explore life's
triumphs and the moments where tearful and fearful emotions
and thoughts predominate. Together, we engage in a collaboration
that nurtures authenticity and brings healing as all parts
of your self are honored. With authenticity at the root of
our therapy, the desire for change and growth are the nutrients
that provide direction for our work.
I am constantly learning as a therapist.
I stay in touch with new approaches to psychological and relational
discomforts. My theoretical orientation combines object relations;
existential/humanistic; solution focused and cognitive behavioral
approaches.
Disappointment in relationships,
trouble controlling anger, difficulty coping with sadness,
negativity and fear, are a starting point, a red-flag that
we are out of balance and are ready to choose a different
approach to the habitual ways we relate to self and others.
These changes require great courage. I
am here to help.
